Thoughts on Unfairly Maligned Films by Ben

Fantastic new comedy All About Steve (starring and produced by Sandra Bullock, one of the greatest actor/producers of her generation) has not been well received by reviewers.

Written by Kim Barker (License to Wed), the ‘comedy’ appears to be an attempt to revive the screwball style perfected by stars from decades ago, such as Jean Arthur, Katharine Hepburn and Lucille Ball.

Forget it. Bullock and her co-stars (including Thomas Haden Church as a typically self-absorbed TV reporter) lack the skills essential to make that style work, and there’s no help from the bungled script.

Cryptic clue: Find a seven-letter word applying to something usually found at a dump (but this week, it’s in cinemas everywhere). A: Rubbish, or garbage, take your pick.

1 Star.

That’s not cryptic, you fuckwit.
